(3DCoat) Sphere primitive for the body. Curve tool for the tentacles, arms and horns. Ctrl+Build to dig out the mouth, horn and eye cavities.
Spike tool for the teeth. Sphere primitives for the eyes.
I loved painting the eyes, especially the edges of them - simple but effective using a brush alpha to dab a pattern.
